A concerned resident has written to the local paper to register concern over broken metal railings on a road next to a coastal path called Cliff Walk in Penarth, Glamorgan.

The local, who wrote to the Penarth Times yesterday, said they had contacted the Vale of Glamorgan council in early July to alert to the potential danger after spotting a gap in the metal railings.

The resident wrote: "I stressed the importance of the railings needing urgent attention, and that the gap was big enough for a dog or indeed a small child to get through, the consequence of which does not bear thinking about."

However, the concerned person felt "horror and disgust" after seeing the metal railings in exactly the same state as they walked along the path over two weeks later.

The resident wanted to know why nothing had been done in the time elapsed, and suggested the council was doing itself no favours by appearing to not to be listening, and acting on, information supplied to them by members of the public.

Last month people in Romford said they were delighted after metal railings were installed along a stretch of a busy road.
