People living in Woodford Green in London have put together a petition to see security fencing re-installed at a local play area, it has been stated.
According to the Waltham Forest Guardian, security fencing around the Ray Park play area was removed earlier this year after adult gym equipment was installed in the area.
The fencing has not been reinstated, leading to safety fears.
Now Joan Murphy, who lives in Snakes Lane East, has put together a petition to get the security fencing re-erected.
She has collected around 60 signatures in support of the play area fencing.
She told the news provider there was a lot of local concern: "There is nothing to protect the children. I would have got more signatures but was out in the snow with the petition so couldn't speak to as many mums as I would have liked."
The local council is now examining the issue.
Earlier this month a nursery in Lambeth defended its decision to erect high security fencing.
