Security bollards used to block college short-cut
Security bollards have been employed to stop motorists using two roads in Lincoln as a short-cut.

According to the Lincolnshire Echo, the town's Abbey Street and Cathedral Street had been used "almost exclusively" by motorists to gain access to Lincoln College.

But now that removable security bollards have been installed at the entrance of Cathedral Street the short-cutters have been halted.

Now talks are taking place to transfer the two streets to the control of the college.

"Lincoln College is in discussions with Lincolnshire County Council about transferring responsibility of maintenance of Cathedral and Abbey Street to the college," Ian Sackree, vice principal of corporate resources at Lincoln College, told the newspaper.

The talks come as the college launches a significant redevelopment proposal, which also includes building extensions and the installation of an all-weather sports pitch.

The college recently performed well in the annual National Student Survey.
