Acoustic fencing to protect against employee hearing loss?

Acoustic fencing to protect against employee hearing loss?
Businesses that often have high levels of noise at their premises may want to consider installing sound proof fencing to protect their workers' hearing.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has put up a simulated recording on its website that demonstrates how hearing is lost over the course of a working life.

It mimics all the effects of noise exposure and, at the end, a recording of hearing undamaged by noise can be heard.

From April 2006, the action levels were reduced, with the lower exposure value set at 80 decibels and the upper value at 85 decibels. There is a ceiling of 87 decibels, above which no worker can be exposed.

The Noise Regulations 2005 require employers to prevent or reduce risks to health and safety from exposure to noise at work.

Under the regulations, employers are required to make sure the legal limits on noise exposure are not exceeded.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800375737-ADNFCR
