An American airport is set to use grant monies to install high security fencing around its perimeter.
South Alabama Regional Airport Authority (SARA) board member Mike Holloway said that government grants had matched the cash raised from selling more than 390,000 gallons of fuel in the past year and the money would be ploughed into improving airport facilities - including erecting security fencing.
Co-manager of the airport Jed Blackwell told the Andalusia Star News: "The biggest problems we have right now are deer and coyote."
He added that the installation of high security fencing should quickly remedy the problem.
SARA is also investing in the construction of a road that will connect a number of hangars on the site to existing infrastructure.
In the UK, nine protesters representing climate change organisation Plane Stupid managed to circumnavigate high security fencing installed at Aberdeen airport. The activists have appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court and are accused of forcing the airport to close.
