A church in Aberfoyle is set to spend a proportion of the £10,000 Lottery funding it has received on metal railings as a means of boosting security.

St Mary's Episcopal Church received £9,847 in the latest round of the National Lottery's grants scheme.

According to the Stirling Observer, the new metal railings will be part of a major restoration drive that will see a new audio and public address system installed.

St Mary's church will also purchase a number of stackable chairs.

The paper claims the revamp will improve public safety and help the church control access to the site.

A number of other community groups in the region have also been awarded Lottery funding, including the Aberlour Child Care Trust, the Strathendrick Pipe Band Association, Strathblane Out of School Care and the Braehead and Broomridge Childminding Support Group.

Residents in Wisbech are hoping that continued graveyard vandalism at a church in the region could be tackled with the installation of new security fencing, reports the Fenland Citizen.ADNFCR-3337-ID-19821878-ADNFCR
