George Harrison's widow has erected almost a kilometre of high security fencing around her upmarket Henley-on-Thames home.

To the chagrin of neighbour and former The Likely Lads star Rodney Bewes, the security fencing completely surrounds Olivia Harrison's home, which is worth an estimated £20 million.

South Oxfordshire District Council gave Mrs Harrison permission to put up the new high security fencing, despite a number of complaints from local residents - including one from neighbour Mr Bewes.

However, Mrs Harrison has decided not to install razor wire along the top of the security fencing.

In 1999, George Harrison and his wife were almost killed by Michael Abram, a schizophrenic who broke into their home and stabbed the ex-Beatle.

At the time of the attack, Mrs Harrison acted quickly, hitting the British pop musician's attacker around the head with a poker and a table lamp.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin recently erected high security fencing around her family home in the state as a means of keeping out journalists.ADNFCR-3337-ID-19860768-ADNFCR
