Residents in Meir, Stafforshire, have called on Stoke-on-Trent City Council to erect high security fencing around a housing development after an arson attack.
Firefighters were called to a block of flats in Henderson Grove this week after locals discovered a wheelie bin fire, which spread to a ground floor flat, reports The Sentinel.
Now residents want a high security fencing solution and access control at the rear of their homes to prevent young people from congregating in the area.
Speaking to the news provider, Abelo Thaty, whose flat was damaged by the fire, said: "I was out when they started the fire and, by the time I got back, it was mostly finished.
"I have asked the council to block off the yard because we're always getting kids coming through here to get to the grassy area at the back."
Recently a security fencing solution at a home in Leicestershire was damaged by fire in a freak accident which saw an intense beam of light focused on the wooden fencing by a glass BBQ table, reports the Leicester Mercury.
