Leeds is ramping up the amount of high security fencing in its town centre as it prepares for the World Cup.
The city's Millennium Square will be surrounded ahead of this Saturday's live screening of the England USA game.
Council workers have been installing the high security fencing, which will ensure the safety of the 8,000 fans that are expected to descend on Millennium Square.
The security fencing will be left in place throughout the tournament until either England wins or gets knocked out.
In South Africa, a number of security issues have been raised concerning the safety of British nationals in the country.
Speaking to the Times, assistant chief constable Andy Holt said England fans no longer deserve their reputation of being football hooligans.
The officer, who is head of the Chief Police Officers, said: "Just because England fans are boisterous and noisy isnt necessarily a precursor to disorder."
