Security fencing part of new football ground

A group of footballers are celebrating after they have finally seen work, which included security fencing, on their new home ground completed.

According to the South Wales Echo, the official launch of the improved leisure facilities on the playing fields of Peter Lea Primary in Fairwater, Cardiff, took place at the weekend.

The development, headed by Communities First and the Safer Capital Partnership, with backing from the Community Cohesion fund, includes new security fencing, paths and local access. It now means the football and baseball teams can play at the site on weekends.

Peter Hodgkins, headteacher of the school, told the news provider: "We have worked hard to improve relations with the local community over a number of years and hope that providing access to the school pitches will be another positive step in helping Peter Lea become a truly community-focused school."
