Students capture Jacksons on film
Two media students from Canterbury College are helping Jacksons Fencing celebrate its 65th anniversary with the creation of a corporate video which details the evolution of the company from its inception in 1947 to the present day.

Daryl Yeoman (from Ramsgate) and Jamie Kennett (from Dover) responded to a brief set by Jacksons Fencing, to produce a film that provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, which would serve to heighten awareness of the breadth and scale of the Jacksons offering.

The students were invited to film various aspects of the business including the timber and steel manufacturing facilities; the infamous Jakcure timber treatment process; the in-house design team; the seven designer show gardens and the export division.  The video also includes a summary of the progress that has been made by the Gate Safe initiative, the national safety campaign founded by Jacksons to raise the standard of safety for automatic gates following the tragic deaths of two young children in separate electric gate accidents.

Commenting on the video, Richard Jackson, CEO Jacksons Fencing said “We are delighted with the film that Daryl and Jamie have made.  Both students have worked incredibly hard on this project and their passion, dedication and commitment has been evident from day one.  Given the fact that Canterbury College is also celebrating its 65th anniversary, we thought it fitting that we worked with them to develop our corporate video – and of course we were also keen, as a local company, to be supporting local emerging talent.  The end result provides us with a tool to enlighten our customers on the range of services and products offered by Jacksons.  Whilst Jacksons enjoys an excellent reputation for the supply and manufacture of quality products, many local people only associate us with residential timber fencing and are unaware of the fact that our timber and steel business extends into many other commercial sectors resulting in the Jacksons brand being evidenced worldwide, from the gardens of Kent to an embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  We are confident that the footage produced by Daryl and Jamie will help to provide an accurate representation of how our company has evolved since 1947 to become the diverse business it is today”.

Daryl and Jamie were both presented with a £250 cheque as a gesture of thanks from Jacksons.
