Students have designs on Jacksons Fencing!
The final of the Jacksons Student Design competition will take place on Wednesday 9th May 2012, providing students from a range of disciplines with the opportunity to present their designs for an original fencing or access control product.

The competition was launched in January this year, as part of the celebrations commemorating Jacksons Fencing’s 65th anniversary.  Jacksons -  a leading player in the perimeter security / access control market -  already boasts an enviable heritage for quality and innovation but is keen to maintain its commitment to embracing emerging talent in the design sector.

Students from Canterbury College have been tasked with identifying a ground breaking timber or steel (or combined) product concept.  The brief challenges students to either create an aesthetically pleasing new design or to evolve a brand new installation which addresses a key environmental or physical security problem.  The winning design will be put into production later this year and the student will also receive a cash prize.

The judging, which takes place on Wednesday at Canterbury College, will result in an initial short list of designs which will then be assessed for their commercial viability. Students on the Building services, Construction Crafts, and Art & Design courses will be required to make a presentation to the judging panel which comprises Richard Jackson, CEO Jacksons Fencing, Andy Tune, Operations Director at Jacksons Fencing and Louise Tomlin, Marketing Manager Jacksons Fencing.
