New sports netting and repaired tennis court fencing have improved tennis courts in Chesterfield.
According to the Star, members of the public can now enjoy the refurbished tennis courts at Queen's Park Annexe in Chesterfield, South Yorkshire.
Alongside sports netting and security fencing, the £20,000 improvements included macadam surfacing and drainage.
Queen's Park Tennis Club, which takes part in the Chesterfield and District and Sheffield and District tennis leagues, play at the courts.
The funding came from a £10,000 grant from Viridor Credits, an environmental projects group, with the rest funded by Chesterfield Council.
Councillor David Stone, lead member for safe, healthy and active communities, told the newspaper: "Tennis is a very popular sport so we're pleased we've been able to provide funding to improve the courts."
Last month tennis court fencing was part of £63,000 makeover at a play area in Wales.
