Villagers in Little Leigh have been encouraged to attend a council meeting about the future of a play area in the region.

It is hoped that residents in the area will come together to discuss vital improvements to the children's play park - including the restoration of metal railings around the amenities perimeter.

Matthew Veasey, vice-chairman of Little Leigh Parish Council, said the proposed improvements - including those to the play area fencing - are fantastic news.

Mr Veasey told the Northwich Guardian: "I think the last work on the site was done more than ten years ago.

"Right now, it has just swings, a climbing frame and a slide, but the railings that mark the park's boundaries need to be repaired, and residents have expressed concern at the need for their maintenance."

Initial planning work by Cheshire West and Chester's Playbuilder project have already been approved and the public is being invited to one of two consultations on Thursday June 10th at Little Leigh Village Hall.
