Business and property owners in central Toronto are beginning to erect their own temporary fencing solutions ahead of the G20 summit later this month.
According to Metro News, a number of condominium owners which have been left outside the high-security fencing zone have protected their assets with their own security fencing and access controls.
The paper claims that a number of harbour-front property owners have met to discuss potential security issues resulting from the G20 gathering of delegates between June 26th-27th.
Official high security fencing has been put in place around the Westin Harbour Castle hotel, which is where the international delegates will stay during the conference.
However, speaking to the news provider, Christian Tardif, a harbour-side property owner said: "For me, if you put up some type of security fence, it will attract the attention of protesters."
"We don't believe we need extra security at all."
As well as high security fencing, a stringent traffic management and diversion programme will be implemented during the summit.
