Vandals who cut through high security fencing at a Hampshire beauty spot could have put lives at risk, it has been claimed.

Cattle escaped from their enclosure on Hazeley Heath in Hart after electric security fencing was demolished.

Grazing trial ranger Lynda Bourchier told Get Hampshire: "If cattle are released from the grazing plot the consequences could potentially be very serious.

"There is a risk they may get on to the fast B3011 road and cause serious human injury, as well as potentially fatal harm to themselves."
"That is why this incident is being treated extremely seriously," she added.

The temporary fencing solutions on the grazing trail were erected in April of this year, one in the Mattingley parish and the other in Hartley Wintney parish.

High security fencing was recently installed at a secret location in Norfolk which is testing two genetically modified potato crops which have been engineered to be less susceptible to blight.ADNFCR-3337-ID-19846845-ADNFCR
