A World Cup fan who bypassed security fencing and 'accidentally' made his way into the England team's changing room has had the trespass case against him postponed until next week.
Pavlos Joseph claims he was looking for the toilet when he ended up in the team's dressing room following their abysmal performance against Algeria.
Joseph is accused of laying into members of the team after their 0:0 draw against the underdogs.
The delay, which will give defence lawyers a chance to get to the bottom of unanswered questions surrounding the case, could result in charges against Joseph being dropped, the Associated Press has reported.
Magistrate Aziz Hamied told the defendant: "If those are successful, that will be the end of the matter. Alternatively, it will be plea and trial."
David Beckham, who was in the dressing room at the time of the incident told the Sunday Mirror: "The actual fan literally just walked in very casually and just said something to me and then walked out - there was no scuffle, there was no aggression at all."
It is possible that gaps in the Cape Town stadium's security fencing was to blame for Joseph's appearance in the England changing room.
