Play area fencing
has been installed in Catterick Garrison after the government and Ministry of Defence gave funding towards the new playground.
Around £74,000 was secured to help open a new facility in the area and the completed design was officially unveiled over the weekend.
Thenorthernecho.co.uk reports that natural materials have been used in the construction of the park, while soft landing areas are in place to ensure the safety of children is secured.
Jane Reeves, project manager for the Play Partnership, told the news provider that the previous government helped fund the project.
"We were able to secure £49,000 from the Labour government's Playbuilder programme so we had a hairy few months when the coalition government came in to make sure we still had the funding but it worked out with help from the county council," she explained.
Hillworth Park in Devizes also saw play area fencing installed last month after a £1.5 million refurbishment project was completed.
