A Hull couple who have seen their garage smashed into by cars on four separate occasions had asked the council to install crash barriers
According to the East Riding Mail, the latest incident for Barry and Carol Clubley came on the night of Tuesday 28th December, when a Peugeot smashed through their wall and into the garage just as the couple were sitting down for dinner.
The man was subsequently charged with drink driving. This is the fourth crash since 1984. In two of the other crashes 55-year-old Mr Clubley was working in the garage at the time.
"We have even asked the council for a barrier to protect the garage and passers-by but we never got anywhere," he told the newspaper.
"Something needs to be done quickly."
His wife Carol told the newspaper it was "only a matter of time" before something serious happens.
Recently, residents in Merkinch, Inverness, called for crash barrier to be installed on the corner of a road close to a school following a series of accidents.
