Security fencing could be erected to ensure that dogs stay away from play areas and public spaces in Leamington over the coming months.
Councillors have approved new rules that will ensure dogs stay on leads in certain areas in the Warwick district from November 1st to try to maintain high safety standards.
Playgrounds - including those in Norton Lindsey and Bishops Tachbrook - are without a perimeter and could therefore require fencing to make the border clearer, reports leamingtoncourier.co.uk.
Councillor Bill Gifford (Lib Dem, Leamington Milverton) told the news provider that plans have been approved by the majority.
"The committee felt there was a need that areas which are fairly clearly marked should be included," he said.
"It is not in the interest of dog owners or young children to have ambiguity about it. The area in Victoria Park that is included is fenced but the other area isn't."
Meanwhile, Barton-on-sea could be set for play area fencing following the announcement that a playground will be built in Long Meadow.
