The improvement of metal railings is just one of a raft of measures that will regenerate a park in Lanarkshire in a £1 million redevelopment.
According to the Evening Times, proposals to upgrade Cambuslang Park will be set out at a community event in which people can offer their views on how best to use the cash.
Funding has come from South Lanarkshire Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, both giving half the full amount.
The information day will feature drawings of projected developments, with a timeline showing how the work will be organised.
Chris Thompson, chairman of South Lanarkshire Council's Enterprise Resources Committee, was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "This information day will allow people to see for themselves exactly what is proposed and contribute by offering their own ideas and opinions on what they would like to see."
Alongside the improvements to metal railings, paths and seating areas will also be upgraded.
Cambuslang Park has been a formal park since 1913. In the 1740s it was used by Christian revivalists who regularly attracted crowds of 30,000 people.
