Security fencing put up around building sites is there for a reason - your safety, a Lincolnshire police inspector has told the county's youngsters.
The force has issued a warning to children about the dangers of building sites following two incidents of children being spotted playing on sites.
In the first instance, two children aged about ten were seen playing with heavy machinery on a site in Bourne. In the second, four youngsters were spotted climbing over the fencing of a building site in Grantham, as they attempted to gain access to heavy machinery.
"Children and young people need to remember that building sites are fenced off for a reason, for example bricks and pipes might fall on them or they might fall into something containing hazardous chemicals," inspector Nigel Storey said.
"It is possible to have an accident anywhere but my question is why put yourself deliberately in harm's way by playing in a 'high risk' location," he added.
Recently, a property developer was fined over £30,000 for failing to clean up the site of a former bakery in Warrington.
Surrounded by heaps of rubble and damaged security fencing, the site had been used for drug-taking and there were instances of arson.
