A new set of security bollards installed on one road in Reading have led to much frustration among a number of motorists.

Readers of the Reading Post have been in touch with the publication to vent their frustration, after many of them were hit with multiple fines.

Drivers have been caught using the bus lane to avoid the width restriction imposed on Norcot Road, close to the roundabout near the Tylers Rest pub.

Two security bollards are in place - allegedly at six foot, six inches apart - to prevent access by wide vehicles, but locals have complained that this is not the case.

Former surveyor Paul Chandler measured the gap at six foot, four inches, but some motorists believe it should be the drivers who are seen as being at fault, as they should not be using the bus lane in the first place.

Residents of Leigh recently complained to their council after security bollards restricted the amount of parking available in the area.
