Security fencing for first off-road bike track in north Wales

Security fencing for first off-road bike track in north Wales
Perimeter security fencing has been installed at the first purpose-built off-road bike track of its kind in north Wales, it has been reported.

The Marsh Tracks site, in Rhyl, was officially opened yesterday (Tuesday April 26th), by Dave Brailsford, performance director at British Cycling, the Denbighshire Visitor reports.

It was built in honour of four cyclists who died in a crash five years ago.

Surrounded by perimeter security fencing, the site features a BMX track, a viewing area, changing rooms and club house.

Dave Brailsford told the newspaper: "It's a fantastic, world class facility and I'm really pleased to see something as good as this in north Wales."

Marsh Tracks will not only benefit cyclists from Wales and England, it is also part of an important development in the plan to regenerate the town of Rhyl.

It will enable young people, particularly those from deprived areas, to take part in sport at a low cost.
