High-quality security fencing will be put up around a pocket park in Northamptonshire thanks to a cash grant.
Work is currently taking place to create the park on the derelict site of a former allotment in Corby Old Village, the BBC reports.
And thanks to a grant of £24,000 from Marks and Spencer, security fencing, bird boxes, pathways, benches and a pond will all now be installed.
Ray Lilley, chairman of Corby Old Village residents association, has been working with charity Groundwork to secure the plans.
He told the news provider: "We want this park to be useful for everyone."
"We want to get all of the infrastructure for the park sorted by March 2011."
A specially-created group, the Friends of Tunwell Lane Pocket Park, will look after the park on a daily basis.
Woodpeckers and foxes have already been seen at the site, the BBC said.
Northamptonshire has its very own pocket park scheme, and has helped create 80 pocket parks since its inception.
