New sound proof fencing could be among the features of the Big Brother television show in the coming month as a new series launches on Channel 5.

The move comes as television bosses look to avoid problems caused in previous series where housemates are able to hear what is going on outside of the complex, therefore defeating the purpose of the show.

Stv.tv reports that the reality show is could also have the biggest house ever.

A source told the Daily Star that noise from outside is something that programme-makers have addressed in the house design.

"So many times in the past housemates have heard chants from the crowd about who viewers want out, which ruins it," they told the news provider.

"But this year they will have no idea what's going on."

Big Brother first came to the UK on Channel 4 in 2000, but will be on Channel 5 for the first time this year.
