A major street in Cardiff is set for more disruption as the city's council plans to modernise the area in time for the Olympic Games.
Westgate Street, which passes the Welsh capital's Millennium Stadium, is due to be subject to major renovation work which will involve road surfacing and the installation of hi-tech electronic automated security bollards.
Despite the modernising plans, many residents and shop owners believe it will cause havoc on the roads as well as driving down trade for all the stores in the vicinity of the work.
However, the council believes it will deliver a "very positive" result in the future and, with Cardiff holding a number of Olympic football matches at the national stadium, it will make the area more attractive to global visitors.
A Cardiff council spokeswoman told Wales Online: "There will be little to no disruption to residents during this time, with residents having full access to their car park."
