Community project supplies fences

Community project supplies fences
A mother and child can now enjoy their garden in safety after a fence was put in place thanks to a community project in Rudgeley.

Partners Assuring a Safer Staffordshire (PASS) ensured that the residents would not be bothered by youths entering their garden again by constructing acoustic fencing around their home free of charge.

Staffordshire Police reported that the new fencing allows the woman's young children to play in the garden safely.

PCSO Liz Dale, of Cannock Chase District Local Policing Team, and parent support worker Jo Smithers applied for and received funding from PASS, before it was then put in place.

Ms Dale told the source: "I would like to extend my thanks to these companies for their generosity, without them this project could never have become a reality. Myself, and Jo had seen the problems the family were having and the impact it was having on their day-to-day lives."

PASS, launched in 1999, aims to encourage greater public participation in the prevention and solution of crime.
