A proposal to move a milking parlour to a new location has been met with protest because of concerns over noise. The developers may want to consider investing in sound proof fencing to assuage the concerns of critics.
One of the reasons for the move is in fact to remove and demolish the current dairy farm and relocate it away from residential neighbours, reported the Yorkshire Post.
However, the proposals for the new farm at the proposed location of Lyon Road in West Yorkshire have been met with similar concerns about noise levels from both traffic and animals. The development has been called "ill considered and unnecessary".
Bradford Council has assured residents that this will be anything but the case. A recent report said: "The development will have no significant adverse effects on the local amenity, the amenity of neighbours or the character of the local environment and agricultural use is appropriate to the Green Belt location."
The Noise Regulations 2005 require employers to prevent or reduce risks to health and safety from exposure to noise at work. Under the regulations, employers are required to make sure the legal limits on noise exposure are not exceeded.
