Whilst the security fencing has already been up for a couple of weeks, there is much anticipation about the opening a new play area in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire.

The work is expected to be completed by May and residents will able to enjoy the new equipment, which encompass children's play activities as well as a fitness facility for adults.

It is just one of a host of play areas that have been renovated within the Hertfordshire and Watford area as the region encourages more outdoor activities. The Abbots Langley play park will not just have things for children to do but there will an outdoor gym, akin to the beach versions in the US, for health fanatics.

The Watford Observer has reported that the money has been provided by the Three Rivers District Council and the Watford Community Housing Trust.

Councillor Chris Whately-Smith told the source: "I am delighted the community will receive this state-of-the-art play space which local residents have played an active role in selecting."
