At the end of 2017, Bishop Luffa School, a Church of England secondary school in Chichester, finished 18 months of renovation work to remodel an old building. The site underwent considerable development which involved creating a newly updated Humanities block and repositioning the main reception.
In order to keep the buildings secure, new perimeter fencing and gates was installed across the site, incorporating swipe-access readers to give the school greater control over entry and exit to the school site.
Around the perimeter of the school, Jacksons installed approximately 140 metres of 1.8m high Bow Top fencing, 3 metres of 1m high Bow Top fencing; polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005. In some areas, the fencing needed to be cranked to fit brick walls or ran in bays to suit the curve of the walls, providing the school with a consistent and attractive perimeter barrier. The decision to install Bow Top fencing was influenced by some of the features incorporated into its design, such as its pale-through-rail construction and unique vandal-proof fence panel to post connectors which help make the fence more secure.
To provide separate access control for pedestrians and vehicles, 4 manual single leaf Bow Top gates and 3 double leaf Bow Top gates were installed, one of which was automated to restrict entry/access to the site.
In addition to this, we supplied 26.6 metres of 1.8m high EuroGuard® Flatform Medium mesh fencing, and 38 metres of 2.4m high EuroGuard®Flatform Medium , along with 1 single leaf 2m wide EuroGuard Flatform Heavy Gate polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005. EuroGuard has a clean modern design which helps to create an open space which is ideally suited to the school environment, providing excellent durability and security whilst also carrying the Jacksons 25 year service life guarantee, ensuring longer life and lower lifetime cost.
