One Blackburn park may find the need for additional security fencing after a man had his bike stolen in the area.

The incident occurred at Witton Park on Preston Old Road on October 16th when a man was stopped on a foot bridge by a group of youths.

Around six to nine teenagers were involved in the confrontation, which saw the 36-year-old victim dragged from his bike before being pushed to the ground.

The bike was then stolen and police are now asking for any witnesses to come forward with information.

It recently emerged that security fencing could be removed at Highams Park in London, much to the dismay of locals living on Selwyn Avenue, who gardens are adjacent to the area.

They have been told that a ten-foot fence may be removed and replaced with a six-foot timber wall, which they believe will put their privacy at risk.
