Football club needs security fencing if it is to join SFA

Football club needs security fencing if it is to join SFA
Without the installation of 2.4 metre security fencing Strathspey Thistle Football Club cannot join the Scottish Football Association, it has been reported.

According to the Strathspey & Badenoch Herald, there are plans in place to erect the fencing, but there are some objections from residents.

The club's chairman and manager, Donly McLeod, desperately wants to see the proposal approved so it can join the association.

He told the newspaper that the planning committee from the Highland Council will meet with club chiefs to look over the plans for the ground.

"It is really a case of waiting to see what happens as I really have no idea what sort of feedback we will receive," he said.

"What I do know is that if we aren't able to put up the fencing then we have no chance in hell of getting our SFA club licence so we are really hoping that it will go through."

He added that without planning permission for the fencing, Thistle will not be able to compete in the lucrative Scottish Cup.

Recently, a Manchester sports club installed security fencing in order to deter vandals.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800282624-ADNFCR
