Wimbledon is fast-approaching and Britain will once again be swept with tennis fever as many more take to the courts in parks around the country.

As the sport comes back onto the agenda the majority of amateur players will be picking up a racket and heading to their local club.

Scone Tennis Club, in Perthshire, is taking advantage of this and has announced that its new mini courts will be unveiled next month, the Perthshire Advertiser reported.

It the latest move by the village club to promote the sport and the new facility, complete with improved tennis court fencing, will be opened on May 13th.

Before the unveiling it will hold a quiz night on April 28th to help raise funds for the club and new courts.

Wimbledon is set to start on June 25th with the men's defending champion Novak Djokovic already installed as the bookie's favourite to retain his title while Serena Williams is favourite to take the women's crown.
