Oldham to have new play area fencing following £50,000 grant

Oldham to have new play area fencing following £50,000 grant
Play area fencing will be installed at a site in Oldham after a £50,000 grant was awarded to the local area.

Limeside Friends of the Park has been given the money to invest into new play facilities from the Community Spaces programme, which is designed to improve green and open spaces in England.

Money is expected to go towards a new Limeside Park, providing local youngsters with play area equipment behind a multi-use games area, reports 24dash.com.

Sarah Furbey from social landlord Contour Homes and secretary of Friends of the Park, told the news provider that she and the group are "so pleased to heat this decision".

She added: "It's great news as the younger children of Limeside are finally going to get the play area they deserve.

"We are planning to have the toddler play area ready in time for October half-term and are currently busy planning a big opening celebration day for everyone to enjoy."

Last week, Dean Windass opened a new play area in Thirsk following regeneration work in the area.
