New play area fencing is to be installed in the north-west of England to provide youngsters with the facility of somewhere to play.

Sandbach Park will see new play equipment installed after the local council invested £38,000 into the scheme.

The Crewe Guardian reports that the new toddlers' play area will accompany one that opened in April, designed for children between eight to 15 years old.

Councillor Barry Moran, ward member for Sandbach Town, told the news provider that the council has always been looking to add to facilities in the area.

"This is an opportunity not to be missed and will result in an improved, safe play area for toddlers, as well as providing nearly three times as much seating along with provision for refreshments and a picnic area," he said.

Elsewhere, play area fencing will need to be installed at a play ground in Marske after vandalism took place.
