Security fencing, installed at a historic barn in Surrey, has stopped persistent vandalism and has led to the successful birth of a lamb.
According to getsurrey.co.uk, Leaser's Barn, on Abinger Roughs, near Dorking, had been plagued by vandalism and fires, as well as people holding late-night parties.
But after security fencing was put up and repairs carried out, the vandals have been blocked off and the barn can now safely house sheep, to the delight of shepherd Amanda Smith.
"It is great the barn is being used again and I hope walkers will enjoy seeing the newborn lambs," she told the news provider.
Rob Hewer, the North Downs West head warden, also said: "Now animals are back in the barn, there is less likelihood of further vandalism and misuse."
The work was carried out by a group of volunteers and the National Trust's woodworking team.
Leaser's Barn is close to Abinger Hall, which was visited by naturalist Charles Darwin in the 1870s.
