Security fencing protecting vandal-hit factory

Security fencing protecting vandal-hit factory
Security fencing is being enhanced to protect a factory site hit by vandals and subjected to arson attacks in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, it has been reported.

The derelict Potters Pond site, formerly a printing factory, is now owned by Blanchworth Care and is up for sale at £3 million, the Gazette reports.

Over the past few months, arsonists have struck twice, meaning fire crews – forced to use breathing equipment – have been called to make sure the site was vacant.

Blanchworth has sent a team of ten people in to enhance security around the facility, including the shoring up of security fencing.

Sally Roberts, chief executive of the care group, told the newspaper: "We have a team in now, securing fences and clearing away debris and potential fire risks, but this is also an issue for the community – we need the help of the town, the main concern being that children are not being supervised."

Recently, security fencing was installed around a derelict hospital in West Yorkshire following the discovery of asbestos.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800260230-ADNFCR
