A Welsh town has stepped in to prevent vandals and fly-tippers ruining the site of a derelict social club.
The Clwyd Alyn Housing Association which owns the building in Sealand, Flintshire, is planning to erect security fencing to ward off any potential spates of vandalism and fly-tipping following various complaints from local residents.
Many had claimed that the area had become an eyesore and the organisation has cleared the entire site and plans to make sure that the problems do not occur in the future.
Other councils across the UK have taken similar steps in a bid to prevent vandals and local people ruining sites of beauty such as allotments and cemeteries.
Councillor for Sealand Christine Jones told the Leader: "There had been fly-tipping on the site. It was terrible. It had become an eyesore. Now they have put a new fence up. I'm hoping now that it will stay clean."
