London is renowned for being home to the rich and famous.

From movie stars to famous footballers the best of the best want to set up home in the heart of the English capital to enjoy everything the city has to offer. To satisfy the needs of the wealthy professionals there needs to be a property market that has everything that a millionaire, or even billionaire, can happily live in.

With that in mind, contractor Brookfield Multiplex is set to secure a contract to the most exclusive and expensive block of flats in London, Construction Enquirer reports. The dwellings, situated in the heart of Chelsea, are part of the Glebe scheme and have been designed by the architect Norman Foster. This high-end development will include six apartments, a duplex penthouse and two large detached villas.

These luxurious flats each have their own swimming pool while the two villas are expected to sell for around £35 million each when they go up for sale. This will make the Glebe scheme the most expensive apartment block in London, usurping the Candy Brothers' One Hyde Park development. The apartments also come with their own social status as the owners will have the most exclusive addresses in the capital.

In terms of the interior of the apartments, residents will be able to benefit from an extensive master suite, four bedrooms complete with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a drawing room, a study and a dining room. For those plumping for the multimillion pound villas, they will be able to relax in cinema, sauna and therapy while there is also a laundry rooms and seven bedrooms with a master suite.

The development has been made possible thanks to developer/hedge fund Orion Capital Managers reportedly paying £85 million for the site between 36A Glebe Place and Old Church Street although a spokeswoman for the fund gave no further comment to the news provider.
