Volunteers from a church in Sussex have given up their personal time to help paint security fencing in Bolnore Village centre.

The volunteers from The King's Church took part in the social action project as part of a scheme to help residents around Mid-Sussex, reports the Mid-Sussex Times.

The team also helped to clear weeds and trim a patch of land by the village hall in order to transform the area into a space were local residents can relax and enjoy the local scenery.

Volunteers spent a day at the Burnside Social Services Centre in Burgess Hill decorating the external doors of the building and weeding through its extensive vegetable plot.

Jim Partridge, a leader at The King's Church, told the Mid-Sussex Times: "It's been fantastic for us as a church to be able to release scores of volunteers to partner with local projects and serve communities in Mid Sussex."

Meanwhile, local authorities in Blackheath recently unveiled a new high security fencing around a local housing area in order to protect residents from anti-social behaviour.
