Invest in sound proof fencing to combat loud music
People with noisy neighbours should invest in some sound proof fencing to protect their ears after a recent study revealed that most people don't realise how loud their music is.

The Royal National Institute for Death People (RNID) reported that millions of people in the UK are "risking their hearing by listening to music at a volume louder than a pneumatic drill".

Researchers for RNID, which is a charity that represents deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK, found that one in ten people regularly turn up their radio to a level similar to that of a drill on a building site.

Andy Glyde, a senior campaigner at RNID said: "It doesn't need to be as loud as you think before it could be damaging to your hearing. Anything over 80 to 85 decibels could be damaging to your hearing, which is actually the equivalent to a loud alarm clock on continuously."

The charity also revealed that one in six people who listened to their MP3 player did so at a level more deafening than an aeroplane taking off.
