Play area fencing at Hatherop Primary School could soon be improved as pupils help to raise funds for a new project.

The kids have designed some wrapping paper featuring 83 individual snowmen, which is on sale in the local area to help collect money to improve a play area.

Made by Bob in Cirencester, the Coln Stores in Coln St Aldwyn and Allium in Fairford are just three of the stores that will be selling the wrapping paper over the festive period.

Hatherop headteacher Sam Bartholomew told the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard that everyone involved is looking forward to seeing the paper under people's trees this Christmas.

"This is a tremendously creative way to raise funds this Christmas and congratulations should go to all the children for embracing the project so wholeheartedly," he commented.

Residents of Banbury are currently being asked for their views on play provisions at Browning Park , which is set for refurbishment next year.
