New skatepark to include security fencing

New skatepark to include security fencing
A new £400,000 skatepark is to be built in Hartlepool, complete with security fencing to deter vandals.

Youngsters in the region have been working with council officers on the plans for three years and work on the park could begin in the next few weeks, reports the Hartlepool Mail.

The concrete skatepark will include lighting so it can be used in the evening and fencing so it is secure.

Speaking to the newspaper, 17-year-old Craig Wells, who is a member of the skatepark development group, said: "The long wait has been worthwhile and we are really pleased that it was approved."

Michael Eastwood, 19, added: "We are all very proud of the work that has been put in and we can't wait for it to open."

Last month, it was reported by the South Wales Echo that security fencing had been fitted as part of improvement work on the playing fields of Peter Lea Primary in Fairwater, Cardiff.
