A planning permission bid has been put forward to build a skate park in Manor Gardens, Eastbourne.

According to the Eastbourne Herald, the parks and gardens department of Eastbourne Borough Council has applied for permission to renovate the existing surface and sports fencing at a basketball court in Manor Gardens.

As part of the plans, the council plans to build seven pieces of skating equipment which will be steel framed with Skatelite ramp surfacing.

A spokesman for Eastbourne Borough Council said a final decision is expected to be made by councillors on the planning committee.

"The proposal is to relocate the existing basket ball courts onto the adjacent tennis court," he told the Eastbourne Herald.

"This would enable the skate park to be located in the court immediately to the rear of café within the centre of the park."

Details of the propose scheme can be viewed on the planning pages of the Eastbourne Borough Council's website.
