A marquee in Dorchester is using acoustic fencing to help stem noise pollution, it has been stated.
Residents in the city have objected to noise coming from the site, and acoustic fencing has been used to help block the sound, according to the Dorset Echo.
There is now a tug of war over whether the marquee should stay.
Acoustic fencing, sound proof fencing and a noise limiter have all been employed as temporary fencing solutions, the news provider said.
But the marquee, positioned outside Dorchester Town football club, has received support from fans who want it to remain.
The Dorchester Town Supporters Trust have approached West Dorset District Council and asked them to support an application for the marquee to stay.
Some members of the council want to reject the plan after complaints about noise.
Shaun Hearn, Dorchester town chairman, said the marquee was an important part of the community.
He told the news source: "Hundreds of people have enjoyed the facility.
"It provides fantastic value for people, particularly allowing people to get married when they might not have been able to afford to otherwise."
Earlier this month acoustic fencing was erected at a lake in America in a bid to block carp from entering.
