High security fencing and stringent access controls are being deployed to protect delegates attending the latest G20 summit in Toronto.
Streets around the conference centre are being sealed off ahead of this month's conference.
Security fencing installation in the area is expected to cause significant short-term disruption to traffic.
Commenting on the high security fencing, which will be used to surround the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Police superintendent Tom Russell said: "We know this will be inconvenient to Torontonians and we ask for your patience and understanding."
He noted that the government was in contact with businesses that would be affected by the high security fencing.
While Canada's largest banks will not be affected by the secure zone, they will be contained within the larger traffic diversion area - which will be used to keep access to the G20 conference as hassle-free for delegates as possible.
The G20 summit in Toronto will take place between June 26th and 27th.
