A mother has called on her local council to install metal railings outside her sons nursery after he was almost hit by a car.
Ryan Martindale broke his leg and suffered facial bruises after being hit by a car outside the Q Day nursery in Corby, reports the Evening Telegraph.
His mother claims that officials should heed the safety warning and install metal railings outside the nursery.
She told the news provider: "The driver of the car wasn't speeding and managed to swerve to avoid hitting him, so it could have been much worse. He just lost his footing and fell.
"I am aware this could have been a very different situation if the driver had been speeding or hadn't stopped in time."
She added that metal railings and a crossing at the site could prevent any future accidents.
Recently, Get Hampshire reported that vandals had put people's lives at risk after cutting through high security fencing at a beauty spot on Hazeley Heath.
