The Westfield Stratford City shopping centre was unveiled earlier today (September 13th) following finishing touches that included the installation of pedestrian guardrails.
Many people began queuing outside of the shopping centre very early this morning to catch a first glimpse of what will be Europe's largest urban shopping centre.
In addition to 300 shops, there will be three cinemas, 70 restaurants and the UK's largest casino - all set to become busier ahead of Christmas and the 2012 Olympics.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said following a visit in 2008 that the site will be "one of the most important legacies of the 2012 Olympics".
He added: "It will create 18,000 jobs and, as a result of Westfield's investment, have some of the most modern additions to London's public transport infrastructure."
Parking barriers were also installed at the site earlier this month as London's 2012 Organising Committee announced it will be stepping up security at the site.
