Plans to remove "essential" pedestrian crash barriers at Sevenoaks train station have been met with opposition.
According to thisiskent.co.uk, a Kent Highway Services report recommends removing the pedestrian guardrail at the entrance to the station and at the junction of Hitchen Hatch Lane and London Road.
Some pedestrians are crossing the road and walking outside the railings.
Malcolm Appleby, Kent Highway Services partnership office, told the news provider the railings were "overkill" and created dangerous driving.
But David Brazier, chair of the Joint Transportation Board, said the barriers are "essential", the problem being that "they are treated as an obstruction by many".
Mother Sarah Olson echoed this view, telling the news provider that serious problems could be posed if the railings were removed.
"If they weren't there, it would be very chaotic, especially for the children. I would be worried about my kids using the road without them."
